Nothing from Ireland?!

What about Newgrange?
The Cliffs of Moher?
The Burren?
The Giant's Causeway?
Dun Aengus Fort?

Still, good list. Been to quite a few, slowly working on the rest.

It is easy to visit places. Learning how to do something with skill is harder and more worthwhile pursuing for those who actually want to experience this world. What about?

Scuba dive - even better, learn to go without a divemaster. Night dive. Learn to identify at least 100 fish species.

Kayak or Canoe Whitewater (K1, OC1, C1). Get good enough to run solid Class III and run at least a few Class IV. You will always see rivers differently after that.

Converse in another language. For you Europeans this is axiomatic. Americans; get off your asses and learn at least one other language of the Western Hemisphere.

Take a self-supported, extended, wilderness trip. Whether it is backpacking, sea kayaking, river running, or even animal packing (goat packing is great), learn to be self-supporting, away from roads, away from cell phones.

Master a different cuisine. Enough said. It's even better if you can do a little cooking in its country of origin.

Master one aspect of natural history so that when you go to the type of places here, they will be more than pretty pictures.

There are a lot more; play a musical instrument, learn to fly, master sailing; whether it is green or blue water, learn how to be alone - comfortably, work in a different country, build something from scratch.

Life is full of experiences and even the most mundane place becomes magical when you bring skills with you.

dude....this list is really lacking. maybe there should be separate lists for touristy sites, archaeological sites, cultural hubs, and geological/outdoor wonders. because this one seems to only include the touristy stuff.

yosemite? no.

FLORIDA? um...i like pensacola. but if you're from anywhere less lame than FLA, don't bother.

GRAND CANYON? NOOOOOO. it's a big hole in he ground. there is nothing cool about that. Trust me.

Okay....please add yellowstone nat'l park. Because if you're into those geological wonders then some of that stuff is the greatest. But not old faithful. that's basically just a really lame fountain.

You can try Efesus in Turkey as well...as far as ancient ruins does it comes fairly high up on the list: Athens and Rome have ruins in the city, Efesus has ruins and you imagine the rest, definitely better than Florida, lol!
